Censorship is a tool of the weak and afraid.
Are you afraid of being exposed to new ideas? Then you must not have much confidence in your own mind and capacities. The world is a big and diverse place. The best learning is the hardest: where we challenge ourselves at our core and sift through conflicting information to determine what is true and what can be disregarded. Hard fought learning is the best.
But now people want to ban books that, often in the most minuscule ways, challenges THEIR beliefs. Science, literature, history - what can be that frightening? Is it so hard to find you might have believed the wrong thing and you have to change your mind? If you have changed your mind, congratulations. It means you were hopefully able to critically analyze something and come to a new understanding.
So, to help all of you challenge yourselves, I am posting a list of the banned books that scare the others so much. Read. Learn. Discuss. Debate. Humans and civilizations are made better though this discourse.
READ . . . unless you're too afraid.
